Frequently asked questions
What to expect from a Kinesiology session:
Every step will be explained and you are encouraged to actively participate in the process. Kinesiology uses muscle monitoring and stimulation of meridian pathways amongst other things. For this reason the practitioner will use touch to specific parts of the body. Sessions can be conducted standing, sitting or lying on a massage table.
What to wear in a Kinesiology session:
For your own comfort it is advisable to wear comfortable clothing but it is not a necessity. You will remain fully dressed during the session.
Please refrain from wearing any scents including aromatherapies.
An individually designed home program will be discussed in your session and you will receive written documentation after the consultation outlying the steps supporting the outcomes addressed in the consultation. This will continue the process of change the Kinesiology session has set in motion.
Is Kinesiology a stand-alone modality?
Kinesiology is a complementary medicine and doesn’t replace a visit to your medical practitioner. If you have serious health concerns, please consult your GP first.
Will Kinesiology conflict with other modalities?
Kinesiology can work brilliantly in cooperation with other modalities. The Kinesiology College of Victoria will happily refer clients to other health practitioners if the need arises or if it is indicative that it would be beneficial.
Does Kinesiology help if I am feeling well?
To keep the body in a balanced state, it is recommended to have a maintenance program. Rather than only seek help when feeling unwell.
